A loading platform is used to transport construction components to the floor levels of a building. We offer a wide range of solutions to meet different needs.

For supplying materials during your project, a loading platform — also known as a cantilever platform — can be the ideal solution. It enables the safe delivery of materials to scaffolding or intermediate floors during the structural phase and allows for temporary storage of goods.

Depending on the type of material being placed on the platform, the loading platform must support a specific load capacity. Bomecon offers a wide variety of loading platforms, available in different sizes and load capacities of up to 4000 kg.

Operation of the Loading Platform

A loading platform is a temporary balcony that is attached to a building, allowing a crane to place loads directly onto the required floor level. From there, the loads are distributed across the floor.

Loading platforms have a maximum capacity of 4 tonnes. In practice, however, the load-bearing capacity of the floor slab is often the determining factor and must be taken into account when selecting the appropriate configuration.

Loading platforms are normally clamped between two floor slabs using props. An exception is the quick‑change system: in this case, special feet are pre-installed on the floor, allowing the platform to be installed and removed quickly. This solution is commonly used when the system needs to move repeatedly between the same positions.

ON THE WORK FLOOR

Creates space – The loading platform increases the usable floor area of the relevant level. Other lifting solutions for bringing loads inside often need to be placed on the construction site when the crane switches tasks, whereas the loading platform can remain in place. This results in additional space on site.

Flexibility – Bringing loads inside often requires a specific lifting device. When activities change, this equipment must repeatedly be connected and disconnected, which takes time. With a loading platform, this is usually not necessary, allowing for more flexible operations.

Relieves or replaces the construction hoist – A loading platform allows loads to be placed directly on the required floor level without using the construction hoist, which is often already heavily utilized. This reduces or prevents delays at the hoist. At lower building heights, a loading platform can even be a cost‑effective alternative to a construction hoist.

SOLUTIONS

Steker or I‑Boom – When a load needs to be placed directly into its final position, a Steker or I‑Boom is a suitable alternative. An I‑Boom with fork board or a Steker with pallet hook makes it possible to bring loads inside easily at various locations. For smaller quantities per floor, this is often a more efficient solution.

Construction hoist – If the construction hoist is sufficiently available, has adequate capacity, and reaches the required floor level, it can often be used effectively to transport loads vertically.

Telehandler – A telehandler is a commonly used method for bringing loads inside. If it is not already available on site, it often becomes a relatively costly alternative. In addition, the placement height is limited, and sufficient free space is required to bring the load inside.
