Video explainer: 25-ton radio-controlled lifting beam

No more chain hoists to level panels with an offset centre of gravity? Check this radio-controlled lifting beam out!

For the Dreeftoren, the future highest residential skyscraper in Amsterdam, Byldis approached us to discuss the efficient and safe placement of precast load bearing panels such as sandwich facades and concrete walls. These panels feature a wide variety of lifting points and centres of gravity. Together we arrived at our LB-RC 25 (Liftingbeam Radio Controlled) with a capacity of 25 tons as the optimal solution.
This system combines a leveler and a lifting beam with automatically positioning lifting points in one, resulting in the following advantages:

Safe and ergonomic
Panels no longer need to be levelled using manual chain hoists. This is typically an intensive and physically demanding activity performed within the hazard zone. With the LB-RC 25, the panel is levelled by the integrated leveller, which moves the top lifting point on the beam connected to the crane hook via radio control, eliminating this process completely.

Efficiency
The integrated leveller can level panels up to 25 tons within seconds. The positioning of the lifting points happens mechanically, automatically and symmetrically when the panels start putting tension on the lifting points. This saves significantly in crane and labour hours by avoiding the labour intensive process of lining up lifting points and adjusting chain hoists.

Flexibility
The self positioning lifting points between the LB-RC 25 and the panels automatically align within a range from 0.6 to 7.5 metre. This ensures easy, fast and stable attachment with excellent load distribution across a wide variety of panels. Because the lifting beam and leveller are integrated, no separate levelling devices are required, minimising lifting height and providing one single system for numerous different lifting situations and panels.
